Al-Muʿīd
The Restorer, The Bringer Back
Root ع و د (ʿ-w-d). Lane describes ʿāda ilayhi as meaning ‘he, or it, returned to it’, and Al-Muʿīd as the One who brings back or restores. Related words include maʿād, the place of return, as seen in Qur'an 28:85, and yuʿīdu, meaning He restores or repeats, found in Qur'an 85:13. The word ʿīd is used to mean festival in Qur'an 5:114. Although Al-Muʿīd does not appear as a noun or name of Allah in the Qur'an, the verb is attributed to Him in references such as yuʿīdu (85:13; 10:4).
