Al-Mughnī
The Enricher
Root غ ن ي (gh-n-y). Lane describes ghaniya as being rich and free of want, with Al-Mughnī as the One who makes others free of want. The term ghaniyy means self-sufficient. Yughnihimu appears as ‘(Allah) will enrich them’ in 24:32. Al-Mughnī is not used in the Qur'an as a name of Allah; mughnūn in 14:21 and 40:47 is said by people.
