Al-Bāriʾ
The Originator, The Maker
Root ب ر أ (b-r-ʾ). Lane gives bariʾa as ‘he was, or became, clear, or free, of a thing’, while Lisān al-ʿArab explains Al-Bāriʾ as the One who created creation without a prior model. Related words from this root include barīʾ, meaning free of or innocent, as in Qur'an 6:19, and bariyya, referring to creation or creatures in Qur'an 98:7. Barāʾa indicates release or disavowal, found in Qur'an 9:1, and tubriʾu means you heal, as seen in Qur'an 5:110. 59:24 names Him ‘the Creator, the Inventor’.
